5th Anniversary
Mark and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary today which happens to fall on my dad's birthday too. I wanted to go to a sushi place we had not yet tried, so we picked Wa's which was recommended in one of the restaurant guide books I have. Wa's is a very un-fancy sushi place, but highly recommended. There were lots of Chinese speaking patrons in the restaurant the night we were there. We over-ordered as usual. The sushi was good, not great. I like the place closer to our house- Misato- better, but it was a nice to have a night out without kids.
We couldn't believe that 5 years have gone by. It's been a whirlwind for sure- - two kids, two houses, two cities. Sometimes I feel like our relationship is so new, like we are still dating. I can vividly remember the day in October 2001 when Mark walked into the Latham & Watkins Staples Center box. To me, it didn't seem like we dated much because I was hooked right away. Let's hope these next 5 years feel as fresh as the first.
Mark got me a watch I've had my eye on and I got him a watch that he liked (no, not matching). My watch is actually a men's watch that I hope to pass down to Liam or Christian when they are old enough and Mark can do the same with his. Mark's parents who were still in town got us a cake and we had a little celebration when we got home which was sweet. They bought us a wall panel decorative piece to hang which was nice.
