Dreaming Child Dreaming Child What do you See?
I woke in the middle of the night last night to the sound of Christian's pitter patter down the upstairs hallway. I don't know what time it was (it was still dark), but Christian came into our bedroom and was 100% awake recounting in an excited manner a story about how he heard a "wolf in mommy's oven" and that he heard Jinto dreaming downstairs (which means that he heard some thumping from Jinto's tail). It was the strangest thing to be looking straight into Christian's eyes in the middle of the night, me being half awake, yet having him recount a story so specific, without seeming tired. After he told me the story, he climbed into bed and fell asleep. That was it. No more discussion about the wolf or Jinto until the morning when he wanted to check and see if the wolf was still in the oven. The great thing about kids is that their minds are free of checklists so they have the ability to be great storytellers. Ah, to be young again.
We attended Dave and Sharon Hall's Stampede Breakfast. It was a nice outing. Their house and property are very picturesque. Christian took off the minute we arrived and befriended a 4 year old girl named Jaelene. They played together in the Hall's tree house while Liam was fascinated following a puppy and cat around. He didn't want to touch the animals but was amused to see them. Liam said a new word today "gate" for the gate upstairs in our hallway preventing him from falling downstairs. This week, his enunciation of Jinto is becoming clearer "jeen-toe" and has started calling Christian KeeKee instead of just Kee. Whenever he wakes up before Christian, he usually will call out for KeeKee.
