Fridays at Waldorf
We got our second dump of snow of the winter yesterday and today, so we woke to a white yard. Christian, Liam and I went to Waldorf today. I've been bringing Liam with us so that he can get used to being around kids and other adults. Liam enjoyed being there because some of the kids have siblings just about the same age as him. Carlie's brother Ronan is Liam's age and Liam was trying to touch him. Liam also tried to say hi to Ronan, but I think Ronan was a bit shy. During open play, Liam sat for a long time by himself playing with the stackable sequence blocks and shape block trying to put the right shape in the right hole.
Liam is starting to say hi much clearer and with much more intention than before. He also stood up by himself today and stood for a second unassisted. During our night time reading this evening, Liam called out duck and dog from Eric Carlisle's Brown Bear Brown Bear book. Very cute to see him recognize and verbalize the names of certain animals in the book.
Christian didn't want to wear his boots to Waldorf today, so he had to watch the kids play in the snow outside from inside our classroom. He was excited to see all his friends playing outside. He especially loved running around the table pretending to hold his play-doh "rocket" and blast off with all the other kids.
